A heritage centre is to re-open its doors on Good Friday ready to welcome visitors over the Easter Weekend.

Pendle Heritage Centre, on Colne Road in Barrowford, has a museum, tea room, arts and crafts shop, and 18th Century walled garden.

The tea room now has fresh flooring along with new tables and seating and features a new menu with wholesome home-baked favourites and delicious treats for all the family.

Visitors will be able to enjoy refreshments in the 18th Century walled garden and other outdoor spaces, while four-legged friends can also enjoy doggie ice-cream.

Centre manager, Angela White said: “We are excited to re-open Pendle Heritage Centre.

“We have made several improvements across the venue, including our new sensory garden, 'i-Spy' for children and enhanced our ancient woodland, which we hope visitors will all enjoy.

“We would like to thank everyone for all their help and support which has enabled us to carry out all the improvements.”

Pendle Heritage Centre thanked its volunteers, Pendle Hill Landscape Partnership, Friends of Pendle Heritage, Pendle Heritage Centre Trust, and E Rushtons Ltd, for helping it to reopen.

The museum is open from 11am until last entry at 3pm.

The tea Room and shop is open from 11am to 4pm.

A new art exhibition ‘Visions of Landscape’ opens on Easter Monday, April 18 and runs until April 29 from 11am to 4pm.
