A MAN who failed to stop at a red light has been dealt with in court.
William Haworth, 36, was driving a Ford Transit van when he failed to comply with an indication given by a traffic sign – namely stopping at a red light on September 16.
His case, which he did not attend, was heard at Preston Magistrates' Court on March 31, where magistrates found the case against him proved in a single justice procedure.
He was ordered to pay almost £350 for his bad driving, which occurred on Whitebirk Road, Blackburn, last autumn.
Haworth, of Osborne Way, Haslingden, was fined £220 and ordered to contribute £34 to fund victim services and a further £90 towards to costs of the court case. The amount must be paid by April 28.
His licence was also endorsed with three points, court documents revealed.
