An East Lancashire food bank has been given a large donation of foods, drinks, and household essentials by homebuilder Miller Homes.
The donation to the Ribble Valley Food Bank comes as Miller Homes builds at its Clitheroe development, Montague Place, which launched in late 2020 and has a number of new-build homes available to view and purchase.
The donation to Ribble Valley Food Bank includes many of its most-needed items, including washing up liquid, nappies and tinned goods.
The charity is supported by the Trussell Trust and has been providing those in the community with emergency food since 2013.
The food bank is run in collaboration with local churches, led by Clitheroe Christians in Partnership.
General Manager of Ribble Valley Food Bank, Pete Simm, said: “This very kind donation from Miller Homes will help provide families and individuals in the local area who may otherwise have struggled to put food on their tables.
"At Ribble Valley, we are reliant on donations from businesses and members of the public, so every little helps when it comes to ensuring nobody goes hungry.”
Sales director at Miller Homes North West, Clare Noakes, added: “We are always keen to support schemes in the areas where we are building new homes.
"Initiatives like this are vital to help keep communities thriving, so we’re delighted to be able to support Ribble Valley in its mission.”
