Lancashire's boroughs have published their lists of people running to become councillors in next month’s local elections.

Seats across nine of the county's 14 boroughs are up for grabs when people go to the polls on Thursday, May 5, to cast their ballot and elect their representatives.

Hundreds of people are in the running representing the big parties; Conservatives, Greens, Labour, Liberal Democrats; with a number of minor parties such as Our West Lancashire and Reform UK - formerly the Brexit Party - also running, along with a host of independent candidates.

Campaigning is already getting underway as existing councillors try to keep hold of their seats and rivals aim to wrestle them from their grasps.

In some areas, incumbent politicians are stepping down meaning fresh faces will be joining council chambers next month, and in some wards more than one seat are up for grabs.
