POLICE are reminding motorbike owners to be particularly vigilant following a spate of thefts in East Lancashire over recent weeks.
Reports of scooters and motorbikes being stolen during the night in Padiham are said to be on the rise, with officers advising CCTV and security lighting to act as a deterrent.
A spokesperson for Padiham Police said: "Unfortunately over recent weeks we have been receiving increased reports of scooters and motor bikes being stolen during the night around the Padiham area.
"Please can motorbike owners check CCTV is working, if covered by security lighting check its working correctly and if possible secure the bike in gated areas or in secure garages.
"Should anybody see anybody acting suspicious then please call 101 or 999 in an emergency.
"If anybody has any information regarding any of the stolen bikes please email 7014@Lancashire.police.uk PCSO 7014."
