A hospice is hosting a witch walk around Pendle with hopes of breaking a world record.

Pendleside Hospice has announced a new event which will incorporate a festival, witch walk and a Guiness world record attempt.

Pendleside Witchfest, will be hosted on September 17 with a hope to break the record for the ‘the most people dressed as witches’.

Pendleside Hospice and Pendle Borough Council jointly achieved this Guinness World Record in 2012 on the 400th anniversary of the Witch Trials. In 2013 the record was beaten in Spain and the hospice are hopeful they can win it back.

The attempt will take place at 3pm and people will be required to wear the official witch outfit provided by the hospice to take part.

The circular walk, at 11am, will start at from Barrowford Park with people able to choose to walk either 5 miles to Roughlee or 7 miles to Barley, both will start and finish in the park.

Following this, a family festival will be hosted at the park from 1pm until 8pm with live music, activities, refreshments and more.

Access will only be permitted to those with a valid ticket for the Pendleside Witchfest.

Tickets cost £10 for children and £15 for adults.
