A MAN arrested as a result of a drunken row with his partner woke up in the police cells the following morning and couldn't remember what it had been about.

Blackburn magistrates heard both Stuart Marsden and his other half had been heavily intoxicated.

Marsden, 35, of Wordsworth Street, Hapton, admitted a breach of the peace. He was bound over in £100 to keep the peace for 12 months.

Scott Parker, prosecuting, said the female at the house told police there had been a verbal argument between her and Marsden.

He had left the house but returned while the officers were talking to her.

"One minute he was apologetic and the next aggressive and that concerned the officers," said Mr Parker.

Richard Prew, defending, said both parties were intoxicated.

"He woke up in the cells this morning and couldn't remember what they had been arguing about," said Mr Prew.
