The Issa brothers are planning to open a new grocery convenience store close to Blackburn town centre.

Brothers, Zuber and Mohsin Issa, co-founders and co-CEOs, are set to launch Euro Grocers later this year.

The grocery convenience store concept will have a 'strong focus on a broad range of fresh and frozen staple groceries'.

It is believed the grocers will be sited in a vacant unit on Pearson Street, close to Home Bargains, measuring 6,000 sq ft.

There will also be an on-site butchers, fishmonger and Indian sweets and savouries concession.

Branded Euro Grocers, customers will be able to use self-checkouts and there will be around 40 car parking spaces along with a free ATM.

A spokesperson for the EG Group said: "Euro Grocers is a modern ‘urban transient’ grocery convenience store with a strong focus on a broad range of fresh and frozen staple groceries to serve the community in Blackburn with Darwen and surrounding areas.

"There will also be an on-site butchery, fishmonger and ambala (Indian Sweets/Savouries) concession plus specialist items like vape products.

"The project is in the early phase of design and development and at the moment this is just a one-off site."

There are no additional stores are planned at this stage, but if it proves popular it may be introduced to additional locations.
