Investigation underway as man arrested on suspicion of rape
A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
Police were called at around 3.30am on Sunday following a report of a serious sexual assault in Preston.
A woman in her 20s, reported she had been attacked by a man in a grassed area off Crooked Lane.
A spokesperson for the police said: "An investigation is underway and enquiries ongoing.
"The woman is receiving support from trained officers.
"A 24-year-old man from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of rape and is in custody."
