The roadworks, which will begin on February 28, will involve traffic management, in some cases multi-way signals or lane closures.

A spokesperson from Blackburn with Darwen Council's roads department said: "Please bear in mind that these are planned roadworks only for which permit applications to carry out works have been received, and do not include any which are deemed to be urgent or emergency works.

"Due to lead-in periods for minor works, there may be additional works not on this list that start next week.

"The lead-in period for minor works (up to 3 days duration) is three working days, so for example a Utility Company wanting to start works on Thursday next week would apply on Monday."
