Morecambe’s Noel and Sue Radford faced every parent’s nightmare after two of their children went missing on a day out.

The scenes played out in the latest episode of 22 Kids and Counting which aired last night (23 February), when the family paid a trip to Alton Towers theme park.

The parents of 22 were forced to call members of staff for help after Hallie, 6, and Phoebe, 5, were nowhere to be seen.

Channel 5 film crew even put down their cameras to help find the girls across the theme park’s massive 910 acres of land.

Speaking on the episode, Noel said: “Going out with a family as big as ours it is quite difficult to get everybody organised and keeping track of where everybody is all the time… especially if you’re in an area where it’s busy.”

As they head from one side of the park to another, Noel and Sue’s fears come true as they discover the girls are missing.

Sue says: “They were right there and I don’t know where they’ve gone… oh my God Noel, where are they? ”

Sue stays with the rest of the kids while Noel starts searching but it all gets more and more scary as the minutes tick by.

In the episode she said: “If you lose a child it is the scariest situation that any parent can be in… it’s an absolute nightmare.

“Even if it’s just for one minute,” Noel added. “It feels like hours of just panicking and all the worst thoughts go through your head.”

Thankfully, after 12 “painful minutes” the girls are found safe and well and were said to be discovered on a grassy verge in the park.

Noel said: “We’ve never lost the kids before – and it’s a scary thing.

“They were just as frightened of losing us as we were of losing them.”
