BURNLEY will be aiming to end their winless run when they head to the south coast to take on Brighton.

Sean Dyche’s men enter the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat against Liverpool at Turf Moor despite a spirited performance.

Team news

Wout Weghorst has trained and should be available despite limping off against Liverpool last weekend.

Charlie Taylor and Johann Berg Gudmundsson are also back in training but are unlikely to feature this weekend.

Meanwhile, the hosts have no new injury concerns but are without captain Lewis Dunk, who is suspended.

Opposition lowdown

Brighton sit ninth in the Premier League table, having lost just five of their 24 matches so far this season.

Graham Potter’s men enter the game on the back of a 2-0 defeat at Manchester United after goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes.

Burnley have faced the Seagulls 38 times in their history, with a record of 11 wins, 15 draws and 12 defeats.

The points were shared when the sides last met at the Amex Stadium back in November 2020 following a goalless draw.

Last meeting

Brighton came from behind to record a 2-1 victory when the sides met at Turf Moor on the opening day of the season.

The Clarets took the lead after just two minutes when James Tarkowski headed home from Ashley Westwood’s corner.

But the visitors hit back through goals from Neal Maupay and Alexis Mac Allister in the second half to kick off the campaign with a win.
