Give us some history about the pub:

The pub dates back over 200 years and is situated on an old drovers route. There’s a watering hole still across from the pub. We are a dog friendly pub with fantastic walks around Dean Clough reservoir. We serve quality pub grub. Cask Marque rated our ales 100 per cent on inspection in December. All our draft lagers, cider and Guinness are connected to a Heineken Smart dispense which chills the product from the keg to tap so the pint is cold and crisp.

Darren and I have taken over our local pub. So the locals are very good friends & as they say “its a good crack in The Nelly”. It’s definitely the hub of the community. Since lockdown and Anthony joined us in April 21, our pub is even more popular.

With more people returning it means making more new friends.

Is food served? Is so what’s on the menu?

Head Chef Anthony Eccles cooks homemade locally sourced food including Steak, mushroom and red wine pie, creamy garlic mushrooms and chicken tagliatelle.

Is there a beer garden?

There’s a large beer garden to the rear with a heated gazebo and outdoor TV. We are dog friendly.
