Two men have been arrested after a number of cars were damaged during a pursuit on Grane Road.

Officers saw black Renault Megane yesterday (January 27) on Grane Road heading towards Rossendale after noticing it was linked to an offence in Darwen.

The car did not stop for police and was involved with damaging a number of other vehicles, however nobody was injured.

The car eventually stopped in Shawforth and two men, aged 23 and 30, from Manchester were arrested on suspicion of theft and driving offences.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Earlier on today a black Renault Megane was linked to an offence that occurred in Darwen.

“Whilst searching for the vehicle it was sighted on Grane Road heading in to Rossendale.

“The vehicle then failed to stop for Tac-Ops patrols and was involved in a pursuit during which a number of vehicles were damaged. It was eventually stopped in Shawforth and 2 males have been arrested. No one was injured during the incident.

“Two males aged 23 and 30 from the Manchester area have been arrested on suspicion of theft and driving offences."
