A man from Leyland was delighted to learn that he’d won a brand new £5,800 motorbike after being forced to sell his to pay bills in the pandemic.

Bike mad Michael Burrows said it “broke his heart” to sell his most recent bike, a Suzuki SV650.

He said: “It kind of broke my heart at the time… but needs must as there were bills to pay.

“I am delighted with this win. I chose to enter to win this bike as it is easy to use, doesn’t take up much space and is very nimble, with great manoeuvrability.”

The company even shared a video clip of the moment a shocked Michael realised he had won.

In the video, Michael said: “It’s mine!?

“I’m feeling excited and nervous… it’s not quite sunk in yet.

“I chose this bike as I’ve been looking for another bike and wanted something I could just ‘bob about’ on.”

The 57-year-old, who has worked for Leyland Trucks for 23 years, is really excited by the prospect of riding his new bike – which promises to be more thrilling than driving his Renault Clio.

Michael will use the bike to attend bike meets which regularly attract 50-plus bikers. They take place all around the North West.

BOTB’s Christian Williams, who surprises winners all over the country every week, was delighted to give Michael the good news of his win.

“He is almost the perfect winner of this great prize, given that he has a lifelong passion for bikes,” said Christian.
