An off-road vehicle was seized by police after speeding round Blackburn late at night.

On Saturday evening officers in an unmarked police car spotted the Polaris RZR driving around the town at high speed while overtaking several vehicles.

The driver was issued with a section 59 order notice due to the anti-social manner in which he was driving.

Officers then seized the vehicle because it had no insurance.

A spokesperson for the police said: "This Polaris RZR was observed by one of our unmarked vehicles.

"It was being driven around the Blackburn area at high speed and overtaking vehicles.

"It was issued with a section 59 notice due to the anti-social manner of driving and seized due to it having no insurance.

"If the driver drives this or any vehicle for the next 12 months in a similar way the vehicle will be seized."
