Police have dealt with numerous incidents over the weekend including the theft of a defibrilator, egg throwing and the seizure of a zombie knife.

Officers patrolling in South Ribble were called to Leyland and Bamber Bridge to deal with several incidents.

On Saturday evening they attented an organised car meet-up in Bamber Bridge where section 59 warnings were issued (section 59 allows the police to give drivers a warning if they are reported to have used their vehicle in a manner which causes "alarm, distress or annoyance"), the theft of a defib in Bamber Bridge, egg throwing in Leyland and anti-social behaviour in Penwortham caused by a number of youths.

On Friday night, police dispersed youths throwing stones in Leyland, carried out numerous target checks and seized a large zombie style knife.

A spokesperson for the police said on Saturday: "We've attended a large organised car meet up at Bamber Bridge in which section 59 warnings were issued, a highway sisruption in Farrington (a double mattress being the culprit), theft of a life saving defibrillator in Bamber Bridge, stop searched a person for drugs in Leyland town centre, egg throwing in Leyland, a neighbourhood dispute in Moss Side, knock-a-door run and bin throwing in Moss Side, an RTC/drink driver on Fox Lane, hotspot checks in Lostock Hall, high visibility patrol in Longton/Much Hoole, follow up burglary enquiries at a Leyland Bank, youth ASB in Penwortham and licensed premises checks in Leyland."

On Friday, a police spokesperson said: "So far tonight we've attended a concern for welfare in Leyland, dispersed youths throwing stones in Leyland, attended a report of youths acting in an anti social manner in Lostock Hall, carried out numerous target checks and we've seized a large zombie style knife."
