A cannabis farm with an estimated street value of £1million has been discovered and dismantled by the police.

Early this week, officers uncovered the huge grow in a disused warehouse in the Bankhall area of Burnley.

A huge amount of cannabis, some of which was already cropped and ready for distribution, was seized with police estimating the street value of the find to be around £1million.

On Thursday morning officers were working to dismantle the grow and clear the premises.

A spokesperson for the police said: "This week mark's our national neighbourhood policing week of action.

"Showing you some of the types of incidents our neighbourhood policing team attend.

"We have discovered a cannabis farm at an industrial premises in the Bankhall area of Burnley.

"This cannabis farm had been set up in a disused warehouse.

"We have seized a huge amount of cannabis some of which was already cropped and ready for distribution.

"We estimate a street value of up to £1million which is now off the streets of Burnley.

"Our team have been working on clearing the premises this morning along with the help of our colleagues from Nelson neighbourhood policing team.
