UPDATE: Police have now re-opened both roads.
TWO busy main roads have been closed by police this morning (January 20) because of an ongoing incident.
Helmshore Road, Rossendale, is closed between Victoria Drive and Dean Road while the A56 northbound and southbound between Grane Road and Manchester Road is also closed.
A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: "We have had to close Helmshore Road between Victoria Drive and Dean Road, as well as the A56 North bound and South Bound between Grane Road and Manchester Road Junctions due to ongoing incident.
"Please be aware when travelling in the area and let others know."
