THIS photo from the archive gives us a different view of one of Blackburn ‘lost’ landmarks - the bus station on the Boulevard.
Taken in June 1994, it shows the view across the bus station looking towards the station from inside one of the shelters which were near the Victoria statue with their backs to the cathedral.
The shelters, almost semi-derelict at this point, were gradually being closed down and ultimately the bus station would be remodelled. The large white cabin you can see was used by the bus inspectors keeping an eye things from the centre of the interchange.
The glass office blocks of the Cathedral Quarter now stand on the site.
