A MAN has admitted killing a 65-year-old grandfather.
Nathan Williams, 31, of Mount Pleasant Street, Oswaldtwistle, appeared at Preston Crown Court yesterday morning where he admitted the manslaughter of Stuart Newton in the town in February 2020.
He had previously been charged with murder and stood trial last year – though a jury were unable to reach a unanimous verdict and were discharged.
Williams appeared in the dock at court to enter his plea in front of the Honorary Recorder of Preston Judge Robert Altham.
The plea was acceptable to the crown and Williams will now be sentenced on March 15.
