A DRIVER carrying passengers, including a child, was over the limit for cannabis and the metabolite of cocaine.
Blackburn magistrates heard Adam Duckworth admitted to police that he had smoked cannabis the night before he was stopped because of issues with the number plate on his car.
Duckworth, 19, of Merchants Landing, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to driving while over the specified limit for cannabis and benzoylecgonine. He was fined £120 with £85 costs and £34 victim surcharge and banned from driving for 12 months.
Andy Robinson, prosecuting, said police stopped Duckworth in Blackpool and it was apparent to them he had smoked cannabis.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said: “The readings for both drugs indicate he had taken them the night before.”
