A beer and gin festival is making a welcome return to a town's rugby club for its sixth year.

Blackburn Beer and Gin Festival will take place on April 29, 30 and May 1 2022 at Blackburn Rugby Club.

The three-day event will showcase a line-up of beer and cider from local and regional brewers, with more than 60 real ales to sample.

The festival will also have a great line up of music featuring some of the best local talent including solo artists and bands.

There will also be rugby matches on over the Saturday and Sunday of the festival, perfect to enjoy with a tasty beer.

Visitors to the festival will get a festival glass and programme on entry.

The programme is full of information about the beers available at the festival including tasting notes and information from the breweries.

The event is ideal for anyone wanting a fun afternoon or evening out, or those wanting to discover new local real ale.

Also on offer across the three day event will be fine wine and gin, and tasty food.

Admission price is yet to be announced but all money raised will go to Blackburn Youth Zone

A spokesperson for the event said: "The Blackburn Beer Festival marks its sixth year with an outstanding menu of the best brewers and producers can muster at Blackburn Rugby Club.

"More than 1,000 people are expected to visit the festival over the three days, sample over 60 real ales from across the North West and beyond, plus an eclectic selection of ciders and lagers.

"We also have live music entertainment each evening and rugby matches are being held over Saturday and Sunday.

"We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the Blackburn Beer Festival over the years – breweries, suppliers, local companies, sponsors, beer festival committee and the public for making it such a resounding success."
