TEN people have been fined a total of £3,793 for discarding litter in the street.
All ten were found to have dropped cigarette butts on the streets of East Lancashire and were dealt with at Preston magistrates' court after October 26, 2021.
None of the defendants were present in court and nine of the ten fines were enforced by Pendle Council.
1. Agnieszka Lukowska, 35, of Whalley Banks, Blackburn
Lukowska deposited a cigarette on King Street, Blackburn, on May 14. She was fined a total of £339.
2. Bernard Roberts, 51, of Fir Street, Nelson
On May 15, Roberts left a cigarette butt outside Lidl on Rigby Street, Nelson. He was fined £354.
3. Darren Wood, 42, of Merton Street, Nelson
Wood dropped and left a cigarette butt outside a Texaco garage at Westfield, Nelson on May 12. He was fined £422.
4. Mohammed Kamran, of Barkerhouse Road, Nelson
Kamran left a cigarette butt on Belgrave Street, Nelson on May 15. He was fined £354.
5. Matus Tomi, 36, of Chapel House Road, Nelson
Tomi dropped and left a cigarette by the benches on Manchester Road, Nelson on May 11. He was fined £422.
6. Aftab Hussain Qurashi, 38, of Williams Road, Burnley
Qurashi left a cigarette butt outside Morrisons on Pendle Street, Nelson on May 6. He was fined £422.
7. Tsampika Varvara Athanasopoulou, 56, of Manchester Road, Nelson
Athanasopoulou dropped and left a cigarette butt opposite the Shell garage at Manchester Road, Nelson on May 4. She was fined £422.
8. Victoria Reilly, 27, of Burnley Road, Colne
Reilly left a cigarette butt on the street outside her home on Burnley Road, Colne on January 30. She was fined £354.
9. Leonard-Vasile Feraru, 41, of Napier Street, Nelson
Feraru left a cigarette outside B&Q on Churchill Way, Brierfield on May 19. He was fined £422.
10. Ionut Daniel Soare, 29, of Fir Street, Nelson
Soare deposited a cigarette butt on Leeds Road, Nelson on May 19. He was fined £262.
