A man has been arrested after police seized a large quantity of class A drugs, cash and weapons, including an axe, during a raid.

The neighbourhood policing team executed a misuse of drugs warrant at a property on Summerville Walk, Blackburn on Saturday afternoon (January 8).

The warrant, conducted as part of month-long operation unity, has seen one man arrested after a large number of suspected class A drugs, weapons, phones and cash were seized.

A spokesperson for the police said: “During the month of January we are conducting operation unity where we are looking into the issues that affect the residents of Blackburn and Darwen.

“This afternoon the neighbourhood team along with the task force executed a misuse of drugs warrant at an address on Summerville Walk, Blackburn.

“A large quantity of suspected class A drugs was seized along with an amount of cash and weapons.

“A male is currently in custody awaiting an interview.

“We can carry out warrants like this with information that residents pass to us.

“Any information that is given to us is completely confidential, any information no matter how small is always relevant.”
