A show featuring life-like dinosaurs, orangutans, sloths and other animals is coming to Blackburn’s King George’s Hall.
Of course, these aren’t real animals but life-like animatronics which are controlled by humans to teach the audience about nature and conservation – all in the name of entertainment.
Animal Antics, which was created by the Animal Guyz, has been described as “pantomime meets Planet Earth” and is packed with animal effects, music and laughter, designed to both entertain and educate.
Dinosaurs from the past, Elephants from Africa, saltwater crocodiles from Australia to name but a few, all making their way out onto the stage as part of some incredibly moving moments.
The incredible Orangutans from Indonesia will also be making an appearance in what organisers describe as “one of the most realistic costumes in the UK”.
Craig Crowton, owner, writer and performer for The Animal Guyz, said: “It’s pantomime meets Planet Earth with a lot of comedy and music. There’s also a serious message where we discuss conservation, Steve Irwin and David Attenborough.
“It’s just a fun family show and it’s ideal for every age group.
Visually, the show is great for young audiences but there is also a lot of comedy thrown in for adults to enjoy.
Craig said: “There’s also a lot of comedy and singing – it’s just a real good light-hearted family show that is very fresh and you can’t see it anywhere else in Europe.
“If people want an escape and have a nice day then we want to meet you. It’s a chance to just talk and learn about animals.”
