Two men from East Lancashire have featured in a Channel 4 series which documents British holidaymakers’ adventures as they embark on a Zante holiday.

Zante is the most searched-for destination for young brits and Party Island: Summer in Zante shows the stories of holidaymakers who made it to the island for summer 2021.

Burnley lads, Conner and Harry, feature on the first episode which sees them, partying, getting tattoos, trying to ‘pull’ women – and getting detained in passport control.

In the episode, the duo proudly mention their Burnley hometown with Conner describing it as “Costa-del-Burnley.”

Harry said: “It’s not comparable to Zante though is it?”

“No it’s not comparable,” Conner said. “But it’s a completely different place isn’t it? You don’t go to Burnley for a holiday.”

As they tuck into wine and classic Greek dishes, such as halloumi, the lads compare a night out in Zante to one in Burnley.

Conner said: “It ends with a kebab or a dirty burger from Ken’s burger van. £2.50 for a burger."

The episode also sees the lads hunting for the British consulate after having issues with the border control officer.

Conner admitted he was “s******* bricks” when his passport was accused of being stolen.

He said: “Got through the UK customs no problem – got to Greece and got detained for 30 minutes.”

However, the issue was cleared up in the end as it was discovered that Conner was mistakenly using a passport he had reported as lost.

“I thought they were going to send me back to the UK,” he admitted in the show.

Conner said: “I think it’s the most bad luck I’ve ever had in my life. I picked up a passport reported as lost in 2019, not even realized until I got to the Greek border and got detained.

Harry added: “I lost a Go Pro kayaking.”

Thankfully, the boys resolved their passport issue and were able to head back to the UK – but not before getting a permanent souvenir .

The boys ended a holiday “with a bang” as Conner made his way to a tattoo studio as Conner got a gyros tattoo on his leg.

After getting the tattoo, Conner said: “Shall I get cover up? No that would be disrespectful to my Greek Gyros.”

After the episode aired on Monday (3 January) many people took to social media to comment on the show.

One person wrote: “I feel ancient. Watching Party Island: Summer in Zante and my god the memories of my 2010 holiday… Oh to be in my 20s again.”

“[The show] was like an advert for gear and STDs,” said another.

Another said: “Watching Party Island: Summer in Zante brings back some good memories.”
