EVERY area in Blackburn with Darwen has recorded an increase in coronavirus infection rate over the Christmas week.
This comes as the Prime Minister has confirmed no further restrictions will be needed, insisting plan B measures are the “right” approach.
According to the latest figures, the area as a whole has a rate of 1,301.1 after 1,952 cases were discovered in the seven days leading up to December 28, 2021, in the borough, an increase of 959 cases on the previous week.
Every rate in the borough has seen a rise in cases, with the highest rate having been recorded in North Darwen at 1983.2 cases per 100,000, while the boroughs lowest rate has been reported in Audley with a rate of 627.4 cases per 100,000.
All figures in the article have been taken from the Government’s coronavirus portal for the week leading up to December 28 and are correct as of January 3.
