THE funeral of a former post mistress will take place on January 5.

Olive Hill, from Church, died peacefully at Hope House, Clayton-le-Moors, on December 21.

The devoted wife of the late Rowland, much loved mum of Christopher and Andrew, dear mother-in-law of Ilona and a cherished grandma and great-grandma.

The 95-year-old was the former post mistress at Dill Hall Lane Post office, where she became well known in the community. She was a keen walker and Olive loved to get out each day for a breath of fresh air with her dogs.

Olive loved to cook and her baked treats were always enjoyed by all of her family and she was the most doting mum and proud grandma. A keen knitter, Olive loved to settle in her favourite spot to create knitwear.

Donations can be made in Olive’s memory on behalf of Alzheimer’s Society. The funeral will at 11.40am at Accrington Crematorium. For more information visit Champs Funeral Directors.
