IT looks as though it was pensions’ day when this photograph was taken in 1988.
It shows the queue at Blackburn’s main post office with customers ‘of a certain age’ waiting to get served.
There’s certainly no debate about which way the queue should line up with the large sign greeting you as you entered.
For over a century Blackburn’s main post office was on Darwen Street. The building is now home to the Wetherspoon’s pub, The Postal Order.
