A MAN has been fined in court after failing to pick up dog poo in an area where fouling is strictly prohibited.

Preston magistrates' court heard how Anthony Berry, of Blucher Street, Colne, allowed his dog to foul on a grassed area at Curzon Street, Colne, protected by a public spaces protection order on April 9, amounting to anti-social behaviour.

Berry, 39, was reported for the offence by Pendle Borough Council and he was subsequently fined £220, along with a victim services charge of £34 and a further £100 costs.

He was fined £354 in total and had to pay in full by December 7.
