THE Radford family were back on our screens at the weekend for a Christmas special of 22 Kids and Counting.

In the episode, the Morecambe family reveal how they manage to feed all of their 22 children – and also how much they spend on the children’s toys each year.

On the episode, Sue explained: “A typical Christmas in our house is crazy. There is so much to prepare and organise.

“It is hard work but I just love everything about Christmas.”

During the festive episode, which aired on Sunday evening (19 December), Noel and Sue revealed exactly how much they need to buy in order to feed a total of 26 mouths this Christmas, revealing that they tuck into 7kg of potatoes and whopping 12kg of chocolates.

The show’s narrator said: “For a normal Radford Christmas, Noel will cook a 9kg turkey, 4kg joint of beef, an entire roast goose, 7kg of potatoes, 120 pigs in blankets and four bags of sprouts.

“The traditional festive gorging doesn’t end with Christmas pud because the Radford’s have been known to munch their way through six 2kg tins of assorted chocolates.”

Despite the mammoth cooking challenge ahead of him, Noel insists that he enjoys preparing the festive feast.

He said: “I quite enjoy cooking Christmas dinner for so many people. There are 26 of us that eat it.”

With 22 children, The Radfords also admitted to spending an eye-watering amount of money on presents.

In the episode, they admitted to spending anywhere from £5,000 - £7000 on their 22 children and purchase around 300 gifts each year.

The family also revealed that they go through around 70 rolls of wrapping paper.

However, after struggling to get their hands on some of their children's most sought-after gifts the Radfords decided to give their children an experience they will never forget.

In the episode, they took some of their younger children on an all-expenses-paid trip to Lapland.

Sue said: “It really has been an absolute nightmare going around all of the shops and not being able to get anything we wanted to get – but I think we found the solution.”

While there, Noel, Sue and 13 of the kids met some huskies and had fun in the snow and they even got to meet Santa.

After the episode aired, many people took to social media to comment on the episode – as well as the Radford’s Christmas spending habits.

“How on earth can they afford all these expensive presents?” one viewer asked.

“Honestly hats off to them,” said another. “I think just two children are expensive.”

A third commenter said: “So glad that I don’t have the Christmas present buying woes of the Radford family anymore.”

Janine Hunt said: “This family put me to shame with how organised and in control they are. I admire them so much”

“The ‘out of stock’ traumas of years gone by!”

Other Twitter users were disapproving of just how much the Radford’s spending habits.

One person said: “Used to love watching this family but nowadays they just like to flaunt their wealth. Too materialistic for my liking.”

“Keep going like this and your children are going to grow up so spoilt and get what they want,” said another.
