THIS is a scene which would be replicated in most towns across East Lancashire for many year. Market day on the market square - in this instance in Great Harwood in 1972.
The open market was held under the market clock which remains a landmark in the town today. The imposing building in the background were, at this time, the offices for Great Harwood Urban District Council, which operated until Hyndburn Council was formed in 1974.
