In days gone by this was a familiar sight in town’s across East Lancashire at least once a year.
Taken in 1991 this photo shows the pot fair on Burnley market with bargain hunters packing around one of the stalls to see what they could pick up.
Many a family dinner service would come from the pot fair where every kind of cup, saucer and plate would be available at a knockdown price.
Even if you weren’t in the market for a bargain it was worth heading down to hear the patter of the stallholders, many of whom were natural comedians.
