In 1964, Blackburn brewers Thwaites had undergone a major expansion and renovation project at its town centre site. The famous Thwaites Tower which would dominate the skyline for more than 50 years was built along with new brewing facilities and additional office space to cope with the increasing demand for the brewery’s ales.
