Two dogs were rescued from a house fire earlier today (December 10).
Fire crews from Nelson were called to a kitchen fire at a home on Birtwistle Avenue in Colne at about 10.45am, where they rescued two dogs.
The fire was from the kitchen and crews used one breathing apparatus, one hose reel and one positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Two fire engines from Nelson attended a kitchen fire at a domestic property on Birtwistle Avenue in Colne.
“The fire involved a cooker in the kitchen of the property and crews used one breathing apparatus, one hose reel and one positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire.
“Two dogs were rescued safely and crews remained in attendance for approximately one hour.”
