A group of musicians have come together to produce a single to help fundraise for a heating charity.

Depher, which was launched by plumber James Anderson, is set to benefit from the proceeds made by a song written by Gabriel Lennox who runs a band called Gabriel Falls.

James' story became a viral internet sensation two years ago when people heard of his selflessness, often charging pensioners nothing for major heating repairs.

Gabriel, 40 was inspired by James and Depher and wanted to use his talent of music to help fundraise so more people could be helped by the charity.

Gabriel, who is from Glasgow, wrote the song and plays guitar and sings on the track.

He came together with five other musicians, with Gabriel on guitar and vocals, Roddy McMahon on drums, Martin McCann on bass, Jenny Tingle on flute, Calum Calderwood on violin and Michael Wernick in the engineering room.

He said: "We just really really wanted to do something. It could be our grandparents, it could be our cousins.

"I came across James by accident through his Twitter page and I looked down the posts and my jaw dropped.

"It was really unbelievable what James was doing and seeing the desperate situations some people were in.

"I ended up in tears and I thought that there has to be a way that I can help so I reached out to my friends in music to put something together.

"Everyone was on board and we are so happy with the end result. Even if it can just help a little then that's what we wanted to do."

James said that he was honoured and moved by Gabriel and the song, Angel, which is about people in love.

He said that without the help of contributors such as Gabriel, his work would be impossible.

James said: "I love the song. I have listened to it several times.

"It's godly, it's heavenly to get this help. To get this kind of response to help people across the country.

"When someone downloads it, it's only a pound but they have something to listen to plus they are helping us.

"These fundraisers allow us to save peoples lives."

Depher started in 2017 when James went to a job of an elderly man who an engineer had tried to scam into buying a new boiler.

The charity was set up to help the elderly and vulnerable with plumbing repairs and James is now helping people in any way possible such as paying for gas and electricity, food and even Christmas presents.

The charity is now working nationally but is still based in Burnley.

The song is available on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music.
