A 21-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a man who kissed her neck and chest while she screamed for him to 'get off'.

Police are appealing for information following the assault which happened in the early hours of Sunday November 21.

Officers were called to Nelson Street in Lancaster at around 3am.

It is believed the 21-year-old was walking outside the town hall on Nelson Street when she was approached by a man between 2.30am and 3am on Sunday, November 21.

The man kissed the woman on her neck and chest before she called for the man to get off.

Her attacker then ran from the scene.

The victim was helped by another woman with police called shortly after.

Following CCTV enquiries police now want to speak to the man, pictured, in connection with the assault.

They would also like to speak to the driver of the black Land Rover seen in the image as part of their enquiries.

PC Michele Casson, of Lancaster Police, said: “We are appealing for information for any witnesses that may be in the area at the time of the incident including the member of the public that helped the victim and the vehicle that was parked up outside the townhall.

"While the image isn't the best quality, we hope someone might have seen what happened or recognises those pictured.

“We request anyone with information to contact 101 or emailing the officer-in-case directly at 8431@lancashire.police.uk quoting incident reference 0218 of November 21.”
