TRIBUTES have been paid to a woman who worked on a market stall in Accrington.

Mary O’Rourke of Springbrook House, Clayton-Le-Moors, passed away peacefully with her loving son by her side on November 16, 2021.

During her life Mary was a hard worker and worked for various companies over the years including Ewbank, on Len’s market stall in Accrington, Holland’s Pies and also Mastabar.

In her spare time and during her retirement she greatly enjoyed writing stories and poems of which she had many published.

The 86-year-old was also a very proud mum and supported and followed her son when he played in the Clitheroe Ukulele Orchestra.

She also took pleasure in going away on coach holidays and has travelled all over England.

Mary was also a member of the Huncoat Ladies Club, All Saints Church Mothers’ Union, the Oswaldtwistle Writers Club and also her local history club.

She received certificates of appreciation for her volunteer work in her local community in Hyndburn.

Mary was the dearly loved wife of the late Brian, a much loved mum of Kathryn, Nigel and Jason, a dear mother in law of Gary, Janet and Janet and also a treasured grandma of Flynn, Benjamin and Louis and great grandma of Asher.

She will be very sadly missed by all those who loved and knew her.

It was Mary’s wish for those attending her funeral to wear bright colours.

Her funeral service will be held at 1.15pm at All Saints Church, Clayton-Le-Moors, on Monday 29th November 2021, prior to committal at Accrington Crematorium.
