AN 11-year-old girl is raising money for East Lancashire Hospice all throughout November by wearing shorts all day, every day, even in bed at night!

Daisy Draper decided to take on the incredible challenge after both her granny, Susan Walsh, and her grandpa, John Roberts, who were from Feniscowles and Darwen respectively, were cared for in the hospice.

She is being cheered on all the way by her two younger brothers Arthur, seven, and Stanley, five.

Daisy’s mum, Faye Draper, said: “Daisy’s grandpa passed away in February 2017 after receiving invaluable support as an out-patient and then finally as an in-patient.

“Daisy’s granny spent eight weeks at the hospice earlier this summer, where she was cared for with such kindness and respect. Daisy was able to visit her granny while she was in the hospice and saw first-hand how well the staff and volunteers looked after her, ensuring she was happy and comfortable. Daisy feels very sad to have lost both her grandparents at such a young age and now wants to do something positive in their memory”.

Daisy has raised an incredible £1,600 so far, and if you would like to support Daisy, you can do so by visiting her JustGiving page justgiving.com/daisydraper, alternatively you can call the hospice fundraising team on 01254 287014.
