A MAN has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with firearms and drugs offences.

Benjamin Snell was arrested at Manchester airport as he returned from Tenerife after two years out of the country.

Snell, 33, of no fixed address, was charged with two charges of possessing a firearm, two charges of possessing ammunition without a certificate, possessing a shotgun without a certificate, possessing cocaine with intent to supply, possessing amphetamine with intent to supply and conspiring to supply both drugs.

He was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court where he will appear on December 20.
