Pupils from a Nelson girls’ school raised £307.86 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Edenfield Girls’ High School students organised a bake sale to raise the money and made a cheque presentation to Macmillan.
Headteacher Yaasmin Mubarak said: “We are extremely proud of our girls who have worked very hard to support each other to promote awareness of the valuable work Macmillan do and to raise funds for this much needed charity!”
Edenfield opened the doors to secondary school girls in September 2019 and presently serves years 7, 8 and 9 students. The school is managed by the ‘Fountains of Knowledge’ organisation which also runs the Al Ikhlaas Primary School and a nursery.
The school is currently taking applications for September 2022 and will host an open day on 15 December 2021.
