A MAN threw a trainer at his mum hitting her on the head.
Blackburn magistrates heard that a week later Daniel Duckworth launched a box of cakes at his mother in another outburst of anger.
Duckworth, 29, of Dall Street, Burnley, pleaded guilty to two charges of assault and one of criminal damage to property belonging to his mum. He was made subject to a community order for 12 months with 15 days rehabilitation activity requirement, fined £20 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £95 victim surcharge.
Andy Robinson, prosecuting, said Duckworth had been abusive and threatening towards his mother and her partner.
In a victim statement his mum said he had assaulted her in the past and smashed her house up.
Mark Williams, defending, said since the incident his client had received help with his mental health problems and was back on medication.
