A SMALL business is getting ready to offer a range of unique smelling waxes and fragrances as part of this year’s Black Friday deals.

Heaven Scent Bowtique, Bolton Road, Blackburn, deals in custom-made products that are designed to remind customers of special people or moments in their lives, such as the perfume they wore on their wedding day or a favourite aftershave.

Founder Beccie Cochrane, who makes her products by hand during her weekends and evenings days off when not working as a hospital trauma coordinator, hopes customers will enjoy the chance to sample her products first hand.

She said: “We’ve got home fragrances, wax melts, reed diffusers, homeware.

“It’s been really good, when the weather’s been good we’ve had people coming past. When they come in and interact they really like what they see.”

Ms Cochrane started her business earlier this year when, with the encouragement of her husband and friends, she turned her long-term interest in wax making into a business.

Beginning by working out of her Abbey Village workshop and using a kit her husband bought her for her birthday, Ms Cochrane was inspired to give her products a unique and personal twist.

This was to custom make her products incorporating fragrances requested by customers that would be particularly evocative for them.

The wax used is made of natural soy bean, certified palm wax, paraffin wax and plant and plant-based additives.

It is vegan and does not contain any animal by-product, while all of the wax and oil used is sustainably sourced and cruelty-free.

As well as wax melts, the outlet also offers burners and carpet fresheners.

The shop also includes handmade jewellery by Long Dog Crafts, personalised signs by Sign Of The Times, natural bath products by Village Holistics, reusable face wipes by Revive & Renu and Eryns Attic’s handmade children’s clothes

Ms Cochrane hopes that a range of Black Friday deals available, with 20 per cent off selected items from November 26 will help to introduce more customers to her unique scents.

She said: “After lockdown, we want to bring back shopping and the idea of going into shops so we hope to see more and more people come down.”
