A DRUG dealer has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison after being caught in a stop-and-search.

Matthew Lamb, of Basil Street, Colne, was stopped by police in October 2020 after being seen parked up in a vehicle at Victory Park, Barnoldswick.

Lamb, 21, was found to be in possession of wraps of cocaine and he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine.

A further search of Lamb's home address revealed more cocaine with items linked to the supply of Class A drugs.

Upon examination, Lamb's mobile phone contained messages that indicated his supplying of drugs.

On October 29 at Burnley Crown Court, Lamb was sentenced to 30-months in prison.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "Officers will continue to target those involved in the supply of drugs.

"If you have any information in relation to drugs being supplied in your local area please contact your local neighbourhood policing team, call 101 or alternatively call the independent charity crime stoppers on 0800 555 111."
