YOUTHS are damaging a park with graffiti and bin fires.

Police are asking parents whether they know where their child is after Bold Venture Park in Darwen was targeted.

Officers say that the playground has been vandalised with indecent images and slogans and bins have been set on fire.

As well as this, users of the park are becoming increasingly concerned over entering the park after dark due to the large gatherings of youths.

A spokesperson for the police said: “This is really disappointing given the hard work of many people to try and keep the park in good order so it can be enjoyed by all.

“Darwen Police will patrol with increased frequency. If you have any information which may help identify any of the offenders, please let us know and we also urge you to report any incidents on 101 or 999 if you witness a crime in progress.

“Alternatively, you can report online via the Lancashire Constabulary website.

“Thank you, together we can make a difference.”
