A MAN in his 60s has been found dead after a suspected fire at a house in Blackburn.
Police say they were alerted to potential concerns for the welfare of a man living at a house in Whitebirk Road yesterday morning at about 9.30am.
Officers attended and the body of a man, who is believed to be in his 60s, was found inside the terraced property.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “Police were called to a concern for welfare check for a man at an address on Whitebirk Road, Blackburn.
“Officers attended and sadly the body of a man believed to be in his 60s was found deceased inside.
“There is believed to have been a fire within the property however the cause is not believed to be suspicious at this time.
“His family has been informed and a file has been passed to the coroner’s office.”
