A COUNCIL is seeking to let a former community hub.

Bids have been invited to lease the Arthur Wilson Centre, Pickup Street, Clayton-le-Moors.

Hyndburn Council is seeking proposals for a new purpose for the 1960's building which includes a community hall, classroom/office, toilets and kitchen.

Situated approximately two miles north of Accrington Town Centre, it close to a bus route, has its own carpark for seven vehicles including a disabled space.

It is near to local amenities such as a doctor’s surgery and shops.

A spokeswoman for Hyndburn Council said:“The Arthur Wilson Centre, located off Whalley Road in Clayton-le-Moors, has been previously used as a community centre but could be suitable for a wide variety of uses, subject to acquiring the necessary consents.

“Bids are invited to lease the building, carpark and adjoining land.

"We encourage any interested parties to submit as much information as possible to us as part of their application. We welcome all applications and are looking forward to seeing a range of ideas put forward for cabinet to consider.”

Bids received by the closing date of noon on Friday December 10 will be considered by Hyndburn Council’s cabinet in January/February and a decision will be made as to the preferred use of the site.
