A 28-year-old man has been jailed for burglary.

Simon Vincent was sent to prison for eight weeks after pleading guilty to burgling a shop in Haslingden town centre on Sunday November 7.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We informed you of burglary in Haslingden town centre which occurred on the evening of Sunday November 7.

"We are pleased to inform you that after the arrest of a suspect and extensive file preparation completed by officers, Simon Vincent aged 28, of no fixed abode, has been sentenced to eight weeks in prison after pleading guilty at Blackburn Magistrates Court this week.

"We hope that this gives our victim some peace of mind.

"We will always endeavour to do our best and make sure justice is served.

"Thank you for your continued support."
