An e-bike supplier has described being "delighted" that the business will get a new retail space to operate out of.

Ribble Valley e-Bikes will open a new 700 sq-ft e-bike showroom on Waterloo Road, Clitheroe this weekend (Saturday November 13), with an official launch event to follow in December.

The new retail space, close to Howdens, will allow the company - which already has a popular hire centre in the heart of Dunsop Bridge - to display its top-of-the-range e-bikes and children’s bikes available to buy.

Ribble Valley e-Bikes owner Roger Wolstenholme said: "With the growing popularity of e-bikes, we’re excited to expand into the new Clitheroe store where we can really show off our fantastic selection of e-bikes and accessories.

"Clitheroe is becoming a bit of an e-bike hotspot, with a number of cycle and accessory retailers in the area.

"The good thing is that we all offer different brands, services and price points, so keen cyclists (or wannabe cyclists) can come and do the rounds, make their own comparisons, and enjoy Clitheroe’s many attractions and cafes while they’re here.

"We stock top brands like Haibike, Raleigh, LaPierre and Volt, including mountain bikes, road bikes and hybrid models. And now we have more space to display them to their full potential.

"For us, the main benefit of the Clitheroe location is that it’s convenient for people. It’s on the busy A671, and more likely to attract passing trade than our beautiful rural location in Dunsop Bridge.

"While we’ll be able to arrange bike sales and hire from either venue, Dunsop will act primarily as our Hire HQ and Clitheroe as our retail base.

"Along with adult e-bikes, we also sell ‘conventional’ kids’ bikes from Austrian manufacturer woom. This time last year woom bikes proved so popular that we had enquiries coming from all over the country, and Father Christmas even snapped up a couple for delivery.

"The new showroom gives children and parents the opportunity to come in and get to grips with all the child-friendly features that make these special bikes so easy to ride.

"We look forward to welcoming people to explore the new shop and all we have to offer, so I hope new and existing customers will pop in and say hello."

Ribble Valley e-Bikes’ Clitheroe store will be open 10am-5pm Tuesday-Saturday.
